The process is simple: 

1. A community representative should Contact or write the CDS State Secretariat notifying intention to join the scheme.
2. The CDS will invite a limited number of the leaders of that community for a short workshop on the CDS; concept, engagement, registration and due processes.
3. The community team then will further engage with the other stakeholders in the community to establish a Community Management Committee and a Coordinator who are to manage the affairs of the CDS in that community.

The CDS contribution process is open to individuals, corporate bodies and organizations as it is for communities. You can make contributions without your community being formally listed. Contact the designated Kano CDS participating community addresses nearest to you, or contact us for details. 

As soon as your community expresses interest to join the scheme, the engagement process will commence. Also, as soon as the local engagement team or group are able to mobilise and organize their community, the scheme can take off there. Read the process here.

In a scheme like this, no amount is too little or too much. As an individual or Community, sustained voluntary contributions are required to enable the CDS implement laudable projects in the community and the State.

Yes, the scheme’s registration and contribution is designed for all, locals and foreigners; companies, individuals or groups; Governments or NGOs, etc. You can make donations here. 

No, but, you can still make a financial contribution at any time without necessarily registering with CDS. You can do so online via www.kanocds.org or visit any of the participating community partner offices. However, you may not be able to access privileged information regarding contributions, communities, projects etc. if not formally registered. Contact us for details.

For the time being, no. However, Kano CDS will announce when other forms of contributions would be accepted.

Certainly, the Kano CDS is open to all residents in Kano State irrespective of ethnic, religious, political or any other differences. Contact us for details on how your community can participate.

Unlike other previous socio-economic initiatives in Kano State, the Kano CDS doesn’t depend on wealthy persons alone for funding and management. It is a community oriented scheme allowing all to participate. More so, it operates with transparency and accountability as cardinal principles. It is a technology driven scheme enabling contributors and communities to monitor its operation.

No, Kano CDS was not designed to replace any of local Community Associations but partner with them to supplement and strengthen their efforts and capacity.
