Kano CDS is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-sectarian initiative. It has been established to address the socio-economic challenges that Kano faces today and aims at accelerating the development of Kano as a safe and prosperous state. As part of its corporate social responsibility programmes,Green Horizon Ltd.<\/a>, a Law & Development consulting firm based in Kano organised a roundtable hosted by the\u00a0Centre for Democratic Studies<\/a>\u00a0of the Bayero University Kano in September, 2017. Participants of the meeting were reputable and experienced personalities who have been contributing to the development of society in various capacities. The modalities of a new socially based contribution system were subsequently fashioned out to tackle the growing social problems in Kano State. The outcome from the roundtable meetings has given birth to this project. The social problems in Kano State, North-West Nigeria are numerous and have clearly overwhelmed the government. The need for the people to take up the challenge and pool resources to tackle some of the social problems bedeviling society remains very relevant.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
